Progressive Display refits David Mellor store in 14 days

Progressive Display, sister company to retail lighting specialists Parify, have managed to complete a refit at a David Mellor jewellery store in 14 days. The family-run jewellers recently opened a new store in the Chantry Shopping Centre, Andover, and Progressive Display was appointed as the main contractor to handle the transition from an old telephone store into a jewellery retail environment. The main shop-fit - including flooring, walls, signage, shutters and displays - was completed within 14 days, allowing the business to remain open and trade with a crossover period of just over two weeks. The installation consisted of Amtico flooring, aluminium grounded bolted security shutters and laminated glass in the window displays. For the interior, Progressive Display installed a contemporary theme alongside a feature wall for showcasing jewellery. The Hexagonal Podium units are utilised, with pull out drawers for iPad-based EPOS, allowing staff to sell away from the cash desk. Parify’s Cerebra Smartlight lighting has been installed throughout the store, which enables the light colour, effect and ambience to be adjusted to change the mood in the store. The private consultation room has zoned and controlled lighting which has been specifically designed to create a relaxing environment, whilst the window lighting is also specifically designed using Cerebra and Diamond Sparkle lights to attract attention to stock. Amy Mellor, said: “We have used lighting from Parify in our stores previously and had been really impressed with the quality of lights and the innovation behind how the jewellery is lit. from initial planning, through to the completed shop fit, we cannot fault the experience with Progressive Display - they came up with various plans and were quick to alter any amendments we had. The fitters were very professional and experts in their field. “Our new store has been very well received, with one customer even telling us that it reminded her of the jewellery department in Harrods because of how well our jewellery is lit and showcased.”
